What to include in your job brief
- Measure the approximate area and identify walls, floors, steps or splashbacks. Explain whether existing tiles need removal.
- Photograph the surface, corners, edges and any cracks. Include tile size and product details if you have already selected tiles.
- Say who supplies tiles and whether you have a layout or grout preference. Ask which preparation or wet-area work is included.
An example brief
Tile a kitchen splashback approximately 2.5 metres long and 0.6 metres high. I have selected rectangular tiles, and photos show the outlets and wall surface.
Replace the details with your own job, location, photos and timing. A clear brief helps a tradie decide whether the work suits them.
